If you’re planning a trip to France in the near future, make sure to be careful with the roads you take. They might just disappear…
Connecting the Gulf of Burnёf with the island of Noirmoutier, Passage du Gois is not only unique but extremely dangerous too. Twice every day, when the high tide rises, the 2.58-mile long road disappears 13 ft under water. So people can use this road only two times a day for a few hours (special panels on both sides of the road show when it’s safe to use it).

Austrian Park Is Underwater Half Of Every Year

This is the Green Lake in Tragoess, Styria, which sits at the foot of snow-capped Hochschwab mountains. Throughout the frozen winter months the area is almost completely dry and is used as a county park. It is a particular favourite site for hikers. But as soon as the temperatures begin to rise in spring, the ice and snow on the mountaintops begins to melt and runs down into the basin of land below. The park fills up with ice-cold crystal clear water, which gets its distinctive green colouring from the grass and foliage beneath. The water levels rise from about one or two metres deep in the winter to as much as 10 metres in the late spring and early summer. The waters are at their highest in June when it becomes a mecca for divers keen to explore the rare phenomenon, before the waters recede at the end of July.

The Atlantic presents 42 photos of flooding in Thailand.
Heavy monsoon rains have been drenching Southeast Asia since mid-July, causing mudslides and widespread flooding. The deluge has now reached Bangkok, with rising water and associated problems affecting most of the city’s 10 million residents. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said that parts of the capital could be inundated by up to 1.5 meters of water and remain flooded for up to a month.
