Loved One’s Ashes Can Be Placed On The Moon For $12,000

SilverVial-sAccording to the ElysiumSpace site –

Early reservations for the Lunar Memorial service open at $9,950 for the first 50 participants, while later reservations will be offered at the regular rate of $11,950. Each Participant provides a symbolic portion of remains to be placed into a personalized capsule. The capsules will then be delivered to the lunar surface by Astrobotic’s Griffin lander as part of Astrobotic Mission One. The landing side is located in the northeast part of the Moon. It contains a pit that is a compelling exploration target for the mission.

I don’t know if it will actually happen, but there you go.

The process of having cremated ash placed in live ammunition begins when you contact us. You tell us what type of hunting or shooting that the decedent practiced and we can help you decide what will best suit your needs. Once the caliber, gauge and other ammunition parameters have been selected, we will ask you (by way of your funeral service provider) to send approximately one pound of the decedents ash to us. Upon receiving the ashes our professional and reverent staff will place a measured portion of ash into each shotshell or cartridge.

Essentially, Resomation — which was developed by Scottish company Resomation Ltd. — is just like the natural process of decomposition, but on fast-forward. The fluid can be safely dumped into sewer systems or even used as fertilizer on farms and gardens — a proposal that some say comes a little too close to ‘Soylent Green’ for comfort.
