Yes, music takes you places, and this was true 100 years ago too, when sheet music was the most widespread form of distributing popular music. And in the age of the Wright brothers, when powered flight started to gain ground, aviation became a significant theme in popular music. The following collection proves this very well. It is amazing and weird at the same time to see how the vision of aviation technology and early 20th century popular music were fitted together in these sheet music covers depicting travellers–both men and women–aboard all kind of aircraft–no matter lighter or heavier than air–in flight, even in outer space.

A stowaway crocodile on a flight escaped from its carrier bag and sparked an onboard stampede that caused the flight to crash, killing 19 passengers and crew.
The croc had been hidden in a passenger’s sports bag – allegedly with plans to sell it – but it tore loose and ran amok, sparking panic. A stampede of terrified passengers caused the small aircraft to lose balance and tip over in mid-air during an internal flight in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The unbalanced load caused the aircraft, on a routine flight from the capital, Kinshasa, to the regional airport at Bandundu, to go into a spin and crash into a house.

TSA Has No Shortage of Stupid

More inane rules from the TSA (Transportation Security Administration), just initiated since the recent failed airliner bombing attempt, prove that common sense is all too rare in government.
Dec. 26 – Airline passengers traveling to the U.S. from other countries were ordered to remain seated for the last hour in flight, and were limited to one carry-on item in response to an attempted terrorist attack yesterday on a Northwest Airlines flight to Detroit from Amsterdam. New U.S. Transportation Security Administration rules also prohibit passengers from getting anything from their carry-on bags or having anything in their laps in the final hour of flight, the agency said.
Luckily Islam’s best and brightest are even more incompetent than the TSA.
