VoterFactory.com can be very useful tool to find people or it could be a truly frightening site. It is a database of all registered voters in the US, broken down by state and city. Every voter is identified by home address, phone number and party affiliation.
Frightening Site – VoterFactory.com

FYI: As of 6/2019 site is still listing info….
I’m not sure if they changed their process, but they have my preference listed correctly as of October, 2012 and I have also confirmed that the voting preferences of 12 friends and family members are listed correctly. In fact, I have yet to find someone that I know and can confirm listed incorrectly in the site.
I was listed as a Democrat, while I am an Independent voter. I clicked on my listing and filled out the forms and as I said I was an Independent, they removed my name from the list.
It was quite funny, they had a mans name listed in their web-site & a man with that name lives in Green Bay so I called him asking what it was all about and he knew nothing about it. He had no idea where they got his name.
voterfactory.com listed me, at an address where I haven’t lived for nearly 10 years, as a member of the other political party. Complete junk. FYI, I have been a member of the correct political party my entire life, have served in government and am a leader in the local chapter of the correct party. The site is nonsense- Google me and my partisan affiliation should be clear (and voter registration records are correct).
I also came across voterfactory.com by accident and was astonished to find myself listed. However, on further checking into the site, I saw that I was listed, by not my husband. It appears that most of our local listings on this site are due to published land-line phone numbers (why I am there and not husband, phone is in my name.0 It’s disgusting abuse of information.

DNFTT DO NOT FEEL THE TROLLS
Wait until my sister learns she’s listed as a Democrat!
Maybe her absentee ballot was opened and CHANGED……OMG
Per Smith’s advise, I sent email to nocabuse@cogentco.com and abuse@cogentco.com. I took the THIS IS A CEASE AND DESIST ORDER! approach promoted by Svenbo. This was back on 9/1/2010. Although I did not receive a reply, I am no longer in their database. Thanks to all.
Some of this information I found is correct. Some not. No matter. When you want to gerrymander a district, this information is very useful. And since when do dead people NOT vote.
This was probably used for Bush to steal the 2000 election and follow up in 2004.
Looked up a tiny town in Washington and found
two brothers (distant relatives) listed who died in 1959 and 1982. So all their crap listings include a lot of dead people who can’t even vote!
Used Svenbo’s stern form letter and emailed nocabuse@cogentco.com and abuse@cogentco.com as suggested by Smith on 9/1/10. Have yet to received a response. No bounce back of email from either of these addresses.
Svenbo, who did you email/mail your request to? Thanks.
I attempted to use Svenbo’s stern approach format and emailed nocabuse@cogentco.com and abuse@cogentco.com on 9/1/10. I have yet to receive a reply.
Smith, who did you send your email or letter to? Thanks.
I am not sure who Svenbo sent their email to as the one on the site does not work but it seems like their approach got a direct response from Voterfactory.com. I am curious as to who they contacted.
@Mike
here was the original email:
To Whom it may concern,
I was referred to this email address to inform you that one of your
account holders:
voterfactory.com
is using their website to abuse the privacy of individuals as well as
phish for further personal information.
The WhoIs lists them as being hosted by domaincontrol.com but when I run
a ping on the ip it returns it as a Cogent address, this was confirmed
when I spoke to Cogent tech support. Voterfactory.com is currently
listing my name and previous address as well as stating that I am a
member of a political party I have never been associated with. They
have made it so that in order to change this information you have to
answer a series of personal questions and provide more personal
information in order to change the current listing. There is no opt-out
option, no contact information. The number that shows up on their WhoIs
account does not lead anywhere and their contact email gets a return to
sender response.
Any help you can offer in removing this website would be greatly
appreciated, I am a small business owner and do not want my private
information published publicly. I have also lodged a complaint with my
local Attorney General’s office.
Thank you for your time,
Hello My name is Florindo Rozante and I am a democrat… and not a republican. Thank you for the future chance in your date base.
Svenbo, thanks for the excellent info. May I ask specifically who you sent email to – specific email address(es)?
Just got this back from them:
Thank you for your inquiry. We have removed your information from the database listings.
Most changes to the database and website occur within 48 hours, but in some cases the information on the website will not be updated until the next publishing cycle (usually within 14 days)
Thank you,
Customer Service

You are to immediately remove my name and all personal information from your website. My name, address, and phone number are purposely UNLISTED and I desire for them to remain so.
When you have removed my information send me a confirmation email and I will review to changes. FAILURE TO REMOVE ME IN A TIMELY MANNER WILL RESULT IN FURTHER LEGAL ACTION BEING TAKEN AGAINST YOU.
If your’re worried about your identity call one of the credit reporting agencies immediately! Have them put a fraud alert on your SS#. Then, I would suggest you get in touch with the Federal Trade Commission or your local Better Business Bureau and ask for the booklet that tells you step by step what to do if your identity is stolen. By the way, to all you Dems, as I stated before I and nearly everyone I know is a Republican and, yet, we were all listed as Democrats. It is NOT just Dems being affected by this. So grow a brain and stop blaming Republicans for everything. Believe it or not there are people in this world who don’t give a damn if you’re Democrat or Republican. THEY’RE JUST EVIL.
What happens if you clicked on the links? I just did that BEFORE I found this page. I’m really worried someone is going to steal my identity now. What do I do now? Please help!
cOMPLIMENTS,
yEAH, JUST RECENTLY, FOUND SUCH idiots HAD ME ON LINE AS reb. hAVE NO PROBLEM THERE BUT i AM NOT. gO AHEAD AND TRY TO TRACE IT DOWN.

Paul
To smith,
Can you please post a copy of the email you sent to Cogent?
Not sure what to write so that it’s clear that I want my information removed.
Thanks much
The people or person who created this site has the wrong hosting company listed on whois. After a little bit of searching around I found out who their hosting company is and they are as much responsible for the content as the people responsible for the website. The hosting company is Cogent and the email to complain to them is: nocabuse@cogentco.com or just abuse@cogentco.com
I complained to them and they forwarded the email to the site admin and they removed my information. However, if you are on that website you are most likely to be on their other website: hot-people.info So I had to complain again. Maybe if Cogent gets bombarded with complaints they will actually take down the site.
Thanks for the tips, Craig and Joe. I found that site just a few days ago and knew something had to be up. Nearly everyone I know including myself is a Republican and, you guessed it, we were all listed as Democrats. I think I’m going to call my ex-boss about this. He’s the President of the local Better Business Bureau.
Good catch and apologies for my inaccurate communication. Good news is that I am no longer in their list, when I search by my City/State. I did not do anything to facilitate this. When I tried emailing them on 7/16/10 at help@VoterFactory.com (under Contact Us in their website), the email was bounced back.
Still looking for answers to:
Has anyone had any success using a different approach? Aware of any Fed or State agencies that can be contacted to shut these guys down?
Votefactory is for sale — VoterFactory (with an “r” and the subject of this blog post) is not. Not yet anyway 😉
Let me put down my beer and rewrite that:
I’m not even registered to vote — and when I google myself, up comes my name, address, AND home phone! Scumbags…

Spoke to soon. Yeah! It appears as if this domain is now for sale! Let’s hope it does not get bought and used for scam activity again!!
VoteFactory.com is for sale
The owner of the domain you are researching has it listed for sale for $1,395.

I tried sending email via their website requesting that my information be removed and, as expected, these scam artists did not provide a response.

If they managed to get your address, your address probably isnt very hard for anyone to get. This site is a scam site, they list you for the opposite party that you are affiliated with, with the hopes that you will click on the link with your name and then they try to rope you in.
God bless you Joe for your reply and the information to us all. I thought I was going to have to go on a major research offensive to track these people down. When I Googled myself for other purposes and saw they were the only ones who had the chutzpah to blatantly list my name, address and telephone number leading any strangers to my door, I knew I had a major new offensive to launch. Nobobody in this country is going to get away with that and then have the nerve to conceal THEIR address.

they listed me as republican but i’m a democrat. just because i’m a lawyer doesn’t make me republican. this is a hack site. it’s BS. most of their guesses seem to be wrong.
this is horrifying. is there any way to get our names removed? do we have any rights here?
they had me listed as a democrat. they were quick to change me to republican on notification though
