The greatest St.Louis Cardinal, Stan Musial, turns 90 Sunday, November 21, 2010. The St.Louis Post-Dispatch printed a special section for the occasion, which reminded me of Stan’s most outstanding accomplishment. It occurred but 50 years ago, and now seems to be impossible. After a disappointing season in 1959, Stan asked for and received a 25% pay cut. Can anyone imagine any of today’s athletes doing that? Stan “The Man” truly represents baseball and America at their best.
